Columbia Academy is a small and specialized high school located in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, that promotes academic excellence and personal success for all of our students. We have an exceptional success rate, with more than 90% of students who apply being accepted by top universities in Canada, such as University of British Columbia, University of Toronto, and Western University. In addition to our strong academic focus, we maintain an active volunteering program where many of our graduates accomplish hundreds of hours of community service and achievement. Students also participate in a variety of activities run by both teachers and students, and can enjoy trips and extra-curricular activities as they work towards graduation.
Each semester Columbia Academy has up to 150 students enrolled into grades 10, 11, and 12 programming. We offer an interview process to welcome new students and help them plan their courses and studies, and to begin setting and meeting their goals. Monitoring of academic performance and personal achievements continues throughout each semester to ensure that serious students remain at Columbia Academy and we can support them in reaching their highest potential. The school year is organized into three terms a year, so that students can qualify for early graduation, if they wish.
The faculty and advisors work with each student individually, to guide them in their applications to top universities. We offer a weekly Math Competition club, and our school has a tradition of highly committed math students who consistently stand out among BC students as some of the top achievers in the province.
Columbia Academy expects students to maintain a high standard of performance in their studies, and the school offers several scholarships to recognize those who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their academics and volunteering. As well, the graduates from our school have impressive success in their scholarship applications to universities.
