Canada support to healthcare professionals

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Immigration announced that nearly $1.5 million would be earmarked to help healthcare newcomers work faster in Canada.

As the sector is full of regulated professions, the funds will promote collaboration and information sharing in the health sector. This information will help newly arrived professionals, already educated in their home country, obtain their Canadian qualifications and credentials.

The project is centred on the National Newcomer Navigation Network (N4) online platform, launched in 2019.

It is widely known that Canada faces difficulties meeting the need for professionals, especially in the health sector. As we recently shared, record levels of job openings in the health and social care field have now been reached. In March, out of more than 1 million job openings, health and social care employers were looking to fill more than 154,000 vacancies.
