Changes in Canada's Super Visa

The IRCC earlier announced changes to the Super Visa for Parents and Grandparents.

As of July 4, 2022:

-> Duration of stay for Super Visa holders will be increased to 5 years per entry into Canada.
-> Persons who currently hold a Super Visa also can apply for an extension of their stay for up to 2 years while in Canada. This means that current Super Visa holders will be able to stay in Canada for up to 7 consecutive years.
-> Canada's Ministry of Immigration will have the authority to designate international medical insurance companies to provide coverage to Super Visa applicants in the future.

Currently, only Canadian insurers can provide the medical coverage that Super Visa applicants must have.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that it would reveal more details later.
