What proficiency tests are accepted for immigration to Canada?

When we talk about immigration to Canada, we need to prove proficiency in one of the official languages of the country: English or French.
If your goal is to be a permanent resident, you will need to have a certain level of fluency in English and/or French. And proof of your language level is validated by the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB).

Regarding the grade that immigration requires, it varies for each of the programs. All processes require one of the language proficiency exams, but they have a different grade requirement. For Express Entry, check the requirements below, separated by categories:

- Federal Skilled Worker Program: must have a minimum CLB of 7 in all skills that are writing, reading, listening and speaking;

- Federal Skilled Trades Program: must have a minimum CLB of 4 for reading and writing, while for listening and speaking the minimum CLB must be 5;

- Canadian Experience Class: must have a minimum CLB of 7 in all skills that are writing, reading, listening and speaking, for jobs in the National Occupational Classification (TEER) 0 or A and, finally, at least CLB 5 for professions in the TEER 3.
